Ravenna launches youth padel tournament and women's volleyball season

The city of Ravenna will host two major sports events in the coming months. From 6 to 9 August, the Heroe’s Sport Center will stage the FIP Promises tournament, the official Italian stop of the International Padel Federation’s youth circuit. More than 160 young athletes from across Italy and several European countries will compete in eight categories (U12, U14, U16, U18, both genders). The event is free to the public, will be streamed live on YouTube, and is supported by the municipality, with Mayor Alessandro Barattoni highlighting its importance for sport promotion and tourism.

In October, the women's A3 volleyball league will begin its season. Olympia of Navigazione is scheduled to debut on 18 October in Padova against Annia Aduna, the team that beat the Ravenna side in the April Cup final. The league features 16 clubs split into two groups, with a revised calendar that removes mid‑week matches and adds a long holiday break. The season will run through April 2026, with promotion and relegation battles determining movement between A2 and B1 divisions. League president Giuseppe Poggi confirmed the new schedule on the FIPAV website.
