Ravenna economy sees growth in banking and port activity

The first half of 2026 saw significant economic activity in Italy, particularly regarding the banking sector and maritime logistics in Ravenna.

Cassa di Ravenna reported strong financial results, with a net profit of €35.6 million, a 4.14% increase. The group's total client deposits grew by 8.67% to €11.428 billion. The bank's results have been praised by local institutions for supporting the regional economy and funding social projects through its foundation.

In the maritime sector, the Port of Ravenna recorded a 5.9% increase in cargo movement during the first semester, totaling over 14 million tons. Key growth drivers included petroleum products (+24.8%), solid bulks (+5.6%), and a significant surge in automotive transport. Additionally, cruise traffic saw a substantial rise, with 123,323 passengers, representing a 58.2% increase.

Other regional business highlights include Banca Popolare del Frusinate reporting a €9.8 million profit and Andriani spa securing €55 million in financing from Crédit Agricole Italia, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, and Sace to support its 2026-2028 investment plan.
