Ravenna protesters demand transparency over arms shipments to Israel

A protest is scheduled to take place in Piazza del Popolo, Ravenna, to demand transparency regarding arms shipments from the Port of Ravenna to Israel. The demonstration coincides with a concluding hearing by the Council of State in Rome concerning a legal dispute between the Ravenna Customs and journalist Linda Maggiori.

Various organizations, including Unione Sindacale di Base (USB), The Weapon WATCH, and Cred, are supporting the initiative. Following the hearing, a press conference will be held at the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, featuring Italian lawmakers Stefania Ascari, Marco Croatti, and Antonio Ferrara to discuss the legal outcome and future developments.

Organizers expressed disappointment that the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Ravenna have not intervened in the legal dispute, despite calls for transparency regarding arms traffic in the port.
