Raveo Scout Camp 9-Year-Old Falls 20 Metres, Rescued by Helicopter

A nine‑year‑old boy slipped from a forest edge and fell roughly 20 metres into a gorge while attending a scout camp in Raveo, province of Udine, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. The dense vegetation softened the impact, and the child remained conscious throughout the descent.

Rescue teams—including the regional alpine and speleological service, the Guardia di Finanza, fire fighters and an ambulance—reached the site, lowered ropes to retrieve the boy and air‑lifted him by helicopter to the hospital in Udine. He was admitted with multiple traumas but survived the accident.
