Ravi Kishan to Play Lord Rama in Ayodhya Ram Lila

Bhojpuri actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan will portray Lord Rama for the first time in this year’s Ayodhya Ram Lila. The festival will be staged in two phases – a first run from 10 to 20 October in Delhi’s Mavalankar Hall, followed by a second run from 15 to 25 January in Ayodhya. Organisers announced a star‑studded cast: Arun Bakshi as Ravana, Vindu Dara Singh as Shiva, Avtar Gill as Narad Muni, Rakesh Bedi as King Janak, with other artists such as Raza Murad also taking roles.

The performances will be telecast live and streamed digitally, aiming to reach devotees worldwide. Past editions have drawn over 620 million viewers, making the Ram Lila one of the most watched religious events in India. Ravi Kishan previously played roles such as Kewat, Bharat, Sugreev and Parashurama in earlier productions, but this marks his debut as the central deity.
