Ravichandran Ashwin celebrates 40th birthday following cricket retirement

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) celebrated the 40th birthday of former spin-bowling all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin on September 17, 2026. Ashwin, recognized as one of the premier spinners of his generation, concluded his international career in December 2024 and retired from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in August 2025.

During his international career, Ashwin played 287 matches and claimed 765 wickets, including 537 in Test cricket, 156 in ODIs, and 72 in T20Is. He also recorded 4,394 international runs, including six Test centuries. His career highlights include winning the 2011 ICC Men's ODI World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
