Ravindra Jadeja's attacking shift bolsters India's Test outlook

Former India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara said Ravindra Jadeja has transformed from a defensive bowler into an attacking wicket‑taker, improving his mindset to aim for dismissals on every delivery. Jadeja now boasts 348 Test wickets in 89 matches at an average of 25.12, combining accuracy with proactive variations.

Former wicket‑keeper Deep Dasgupta echoed the view, noting Jadeja's experience in Sri Lanka will be crucial for the upcoming Test series starting August 15. Jadeja previously claimed 13 wickets at 28.77 in Sri Lanka, including a five‑wicket haul, and scored an unbeaten 70 with seven wickets in the 2017 series. He is one of four spinners in India's squad for the tour, alongside Kuldeep Yadav, Saransh Jain and Manav Suthar, as the team seeks to recover from a recent whitewash by South Africa in the World Test Championship.
