Ravno Mosque marks anniversary of reconstruction with mevlud ceremony

The first mevlud was held at the Ravno Mosque in Kupres to mark the anniversary of the reopening of its renovated structure. The event was attended by a large number of believers and featured religious and cultural programs.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Minister of Defense Zukan Helez, who initiated the mosque's reconstruction, and Major General Mirsad Ahmić attended the ceremony. They laid flowers at a memorial for the martyrs of Ravno to honor the defenders of the area. The religious program was conducted in cooperation with the Islamic Community Bugojno, featuring military imams, followed by a cultural performance by KUD ‘Karaula’ from Travnik.

The original mosque, built in the 17th century from stone and wood, was damaged by artillery during World War II and remained in ruins for decades. The reconstruction initiative began in May 2024, with the foundation stone laid in July 2024. The renovated mosque officially reopened in August 2025, serving as a center for worship and community gathering.
