Raw Power Games faces closure due to loss of funding

Raw Power Games, the Copenhagen based developer of the medieval sandbox RPG Chronicles: Medieval, has announced that the studio is at real risk of closing after its necessary funding was withdrawn. In a statement released on X, the studio noted that the loss of backing was due to circumstances outside of their control, though they did not specify the identity of the funder or the reason for the withdrawal.

The studio reported that the timing is particularly difficult as the game is nearing its Early Access launch. Raw Power Games, which consists of over 100 developers working in Copenhagen and remotely, is currently engaging in discussions with potential partners to find a way forward. The team has asked fans to support the project by keeping the game on their wishlists.

Chronicles: Medieval is a sandbox RPG set during the Hundred Years’ War, featuring playable factions such as England, France, and the Holy Roman Empire. The game was previously unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2025 with a trailer narrated by Tom Hardy.
