Rawalpindi police arrest men for murder and assault

Police in Rawalpindi have arrested two men following the death of a 45-year-old woman in an apartment in the Askari Apartments area. The victim’s husband, Dr Faisal Asghar Imam, and a domestic worker, Zeeshan Arshad, were taken into custody. According to the First Information Report, the victim was found dead in a bathroom with her hands tied and a wire wrapped around her neck. The victim’s brother alleged that Imam had a history of physical and psychological abuse toward his wife and previous partners.

In a separate incident in the same region, a Crime Control Department (CCD) official named Bilal was arrested and suspended after allegedly assaulting a woman and threatening her daughter with a pistol. The confrontation reportedly occurred after the official’s marriage proposal was rejected by the family. The victim alleged that Bilal slapped her and threatened her life while she was traveling in a rickshaw. An investigation into the assault is ongoing.
