Rawalpindi police register case after car drags man and motorcycle

Police in Rawalpindi have registered a criminal case following a viral video showing a man clinging to the bonnet and windshield of a moving car while a motorcycle was dragged underneath the vehicle on Murree Road.

The incident occurred on a Friday night around 11:25 PM. According to police reports, the event began when a black vehicle struck a white Honda Civic from behind. The owner of the white car reportedly attempted to stop the driver of the black vehicle to seek compensation for damages, but the driver allegedly attempted to run him over. To save his life, the man jumped onto the bonnet and grabbed the windshield as the car continued to move.

During the pursuit, a motorcycle entered the path of the black vehicle and became trapped underneath, being dragged along the road. While an officer initially attempted to broker a settlement at the scene, traffic police officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) at the New Town police station after the footage circulated on social media. The case has been filed under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code regarding rash driving and mischief causing damage to property. All involved parties have been summoned for questioning, though no arrests have been made yet.
