Rax-Seilbahn wins third place in ‘9 Plätze – 9 Schätze’ competition

The Rax-Seilbahn, representing Lower Austria, has secured third place in the ORF television show ‘9 Plätze – 9 Schätze’, which crowns the most beautiful locations in Austria. The competition results placed Tilisuna in Vorarlberg in first place and Riegersburg in Styria in second.

This achievement coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Rax-Seilbahn, which first opened in 1926 as Austria’s first passenger cable car. Lower Austria previously held the top title with the Mariazellerbahn in the prior year.

Lower Austria Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner praised the achievement, attributing the success to the commitment of the Scharfegger family and the entire team. The cable car transports visitors to an altitude of 1,545 meters in approximately eight minutes.
