Ray Dalio warns US global order is shifting after China visit
Billionaire investor Ray Dalio concluded a ten‑day trip to China where he met policymakers, business leaders and economists. He said that an increasing number of global leaders now doubt the United States can maintain its dominant geopolitical position and view the world moving toward a more multipolar order.
Dalio highlighted several factors behind China’s rise – rapid technological innovation, resilient domestic markets, expansive diplomatic initiatives such as the Belt and Road, and a centralized political system that enables long‑term planning. He singled out Taiwan as a critical variable, noting that “there is no AI without Taiwan” because of the island’s semiconductor importance. His comments were released alongside news that SpaceX completed a $25 billion corporate bond sale and OpenAI unveiled its first custom AI chip, “Jalapeño.”
Dalio’s assessment suggests that future competition with China will focus on managing coexistence rather than seeking outright victory, urging global leaders to adjust diplomatic and economic strategies accordingly.
