Ray Guy Award names Chandley and Sparks to Week 3 ‘Ray’s 8’

The Ray Guy Award committee has named Reed Chandley of Florida Atlantic University and Daniel Sparks of Virginia to its ‘Ray’s 8’ for Week 3. The selection recognizes the eight top punters in Division I football.

Chandley earned the honor following a performance in a 16-10 victory over FIU, where he averaged 48.2 yards on four punts, including a season-long 56-yard kick. Sparks was recognized after a game against West Virginia in which he recorded six punts for 276 yards. During that contest, Sparks surpassed 11,000 career punting yards, the most among any active college football player across all divisions.

Other punters included in the weekly selection are Alex Bacchetta (Georgia Tech), John Hoyet Chance (TCU), Josh Cupitt (Delaware), William Hudlow (Tulane), Simon McClannan (Kansas State), and Ed Phillipson (Massachusetts).
