Ray LaMontagne collapses onstage in Nashville

American folk singer Ray LaMontagne collapsed on stage during a performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on September 5. The 53-year-old Grammy winner was performing his song ‘Jolene’ when the incident occurred.

According to statements from his management and reports from various media outlets, LaMontagne was treated by local emergency medical services for heat-related dehydration. The collapse happened amid triple-digit temperatures in the Nashville area, which reached 101 degrees. Some reports noted that the singer had appeared to lose his place in the lyrics during an earlier song, ‘Hannah’, before the collapse.

LaMontagne is currently on his ‘Trouble 20th Anniversary Tour’. Following the incident, his team confirmed he was in good condition and expressed gratitude for the audience's understanding. He proceeded with his scheduled performance the following night in Louisville, Kentucky.
