Rayagada holds motorcycle rally for fallen Assam Rifles jawan

Hundreds of people in Rayagada, Odisha, participated in a massive motorcycle rally and procession to honor V Teja, an Assam Rifles jawan who died from a gunshot wound while on duty in Nagaland.

Teja, 31, joined the armed forces in 2022. He was reportedly scheduled to celebrate his birthday on October 7 and return home for Diwali in preparation for his wedding in December. His family received word that he died in the line of duty.

Naib Subedar Ravindra Kumar Naik of the 15 Assam Rifles stated that while his duty was to return the body to the family, specific details regarding the cause of death will not be confirmed until a post-mortem is completed, which is expected to take one week. The procession in Rayagada included fireworks, music, and chants in honor of the deceased soldier.
