Rayagada school hostel student accused of ragging and assault

A ragging incident has been reported at the Penta PM SHRI Government High School hostel in the Rayagada district of Odisha. A senior student is accused of physically assaulting a junior student, who reportedly sustained an injury to his left hand.

According to reports, the senior students also allegedly forced juniors to perform chores, such as washing clothes and utensils, while subjecting them to humiliating treatment. The incident gained public attention after a video of a Class VI student describing the ordeal went viral. Local residents reportedly alerted the victim's family after seeing the footage, amid allegations that school authorities attempted to suppress the matter.
