Rayan Boulahrouz leaves Helmond Sport after 1½ months

Dutch defender Rayan Boulahrouz, a former Feyenoord youth player, signed a two‑year contract with Eerste Divisie side Helmond Sport in June, with an option for a third year. Six weeks later the club and the 18‑year‑old (19 in some reports) agreed to terminate the agreement, saying the partnership was not the right match.

Technical manager Dirk Jan Derksen said early scouting and the effort invested revealed the mismatch, and the decision was made in mutual agreement. Helmond Sport thanked Boulahrouz for his contribution and wished him success, noting his relation to former international Khalid Boulahrouz.
