Raydium expands LaunchLab to support tokenized equities on Solana
Raydium, the largest decentralized exchange on the Solana blockchain, has expanded its LaunchLab infrastructure to support any token pair. This expansion allows new Solana tokens to launch against a variety of assets, including tokenized equities and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), rather than being limited to SOL and stablecoins.
Following the integration of StonkFun, which utilizes LaunchLab for its deployments, the cost of launching a new token dropped from 0.29 SOL to 0.03 SOL. This reduction in fees has driven a surge in trading volume for assets tracking companies such as Boeing and Roblox.
As a result of this shift toward tokenized equities, Raydium reported its highest weekly revenue in over a year, with 30-day holder revenue reaching $4.43 million. The protocol also executed significant buybacks of its governance token, RAY, which saw a price rally of approximately 90% over a one-week period. While the model broadens decentralized exchange activity beyond memecoins, it introduces potential regulatory questions regarding whether tokenized products are treated as securities.
