Raymond van Barneveld questions professional future after difficult season

Five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld has expressed uncertainty regarding his future in professional darts following a difficult season. Describing the current year as the worst of his career, the Dutchman noted that while he remains capable of winning individual matches, he is struggling to maintain success throughout entire tournaments.

Van Barneveld stated that his immediate priority is qualifying for the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace. He indicated that if he fails to secure a spot in the tournament, he will seriously re-evaluate his career, noting that his drop in the rankings makes his continued participation a question of self-reflection. Should he choose to leave the professional circuit, he mentioned interests in business, clinics, and motivational speaking.
