Raymond Williams convicted of murdering estranged wife in Norwich

Raymond Williams, 61, has been found guilty of murdering his estranged wife, Tania Williams, at Norwich Crown Court. The conviction follows a 17-day trial regarding the January 17 attack in Thorpe St Andrew, Norfolk.

Evidence presented to the jury, including CCTV footage, showed Williams tracking Tania through Norwich city centre, moving from venue to venue to locate her. Footage captured the pair leaving a bar on Queen Street, where Tania appeared to be attempting to distance herself from him.

Tania Williams, a 49-year-old mother of four, was found with severe neck wounds near her home in Catherine Gardens. She died at the scene due to significant blood loss. Investigators recovered a craft knife near the scene and found blood matching the victim inside Williams' vehicle.

Williams, a former Norfolk police community support officer, had previously been accused of threatening and assaulting Tania in 2019, though that investigation was discontinued after she withdrew the complaint. Tributes have been paid to Tania by her community and family.
