Rayo Vallecano fans demand apology and compensation amid tensions

Supporters of Rayo Vallecano have issued a formal demand to club president Raúl Martín Presas, calling for a sincere apology for what they describe as the “constant mistreatment” of the fanbase. The protest follows significant unrest, including a recent match against Athletic Club that was abandoned due to fan demonstrations.

In their communique, fan groups including the ADRV Association and the Rayo Vallecano Supporters Federation are requesting economic compensation in the form of proportional season ticket refunds for matches played at Butarque. They are also demanding a freeze on season ticket prices for the upcoming season to ensure that any refunds are not offset by increased renewal costs.

As Rayo Vallecano prepares to host Elche this Saturday, tensions remain high. Elche manager Martin Anselmi has stated that if the match is suspended due to the protests, LaLiga must take “exemplary measures.” Meanwhile, club staff and players are reportedly acting as mediators to de-escalate the situation and ensure the upcoming fixture can proceed normally.
