Rayssa Leal wins women's SLS Rio Takeover title

Rayssa Leal won the women's division at the Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Rio Takeover, held at the Maracanãzinho gymnasium in Rio de Janeiro. Despite suffering a fall during practice the day before, Leal secured the title with a total of 20.9 points, narrowly defeating Japan's Momiji Nishiya, who finished with 20.7 points. Spain's Daniela Terol took third place.

In the men's competition, Canadian skater Cordano Russell claimed the title with a total of 27.9 points. Brazil's Giovanni Vianna finished as the runner-up with 26.9 points after a strong performance that initially placed him in the lead. Wallace Gabriel of Brazil secured third place.

The Rio event marks the third stop of the SLS season. The circuit will continue with upcoming stages in Tempe, USA, Paris, France, and Tokyo, Japan, before concluding with the Super Crown in São Paulo, Brazil, this December.
