Raytheon awarded $22.9 billion contract for Tomahawk missile production

Raytheon, an RTX business, has been awarded a USD 22.9 billion multi-year contract to accelerate the production of Tomahawk land-attack cruise missiles. The seven-year agreement aims to support a production ramp-up to more than 1,000 missiles annually, alongside associated support services.

To meet this surging demand, Raytheon is investing significantly in its workforce, technology, supply chain, and facilities. The contract is intended to ensure a stable and predictable supply for the US Navy and its international allies. The Tomahawk is a long-range, subsonic precision-strike weapon capable of being launched from surface warships and submarines to strike land targets from significant distances.

In addition to the United States, the Tomahawk is utilized by the Royal Navy of the UK, the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal Netherlands Navy, and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. The production increase aligns with broader efforts to expand the inventory of high-demand weapons systems.
