Raytheon completes $50 million expansion of Mississippi facility

Raytheon, a business of RTX, has completed a $50 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Forest, Mississippi. The project added 17,000 square feet of space, bringing the total manufacturing area of the site to 445,000 square feet.

The expansion is designed to increase production capacity for critical electronic warfare and radar systems. Specifically, the facility will serve as a hub for the production, testing, and integration of Next Generation Jammer Mid-Band (NGJ-MB) pods for the U.S. Navy and the Australian government. These systems are intended to help aircraft disrupt or degrade enemy radar and communications.

The investment is expected to create 100 high-skill jobs by 2028. This project marks the latest in a series of expansions at the Forest site; over the last decade, Raytheon has invested a total of $280 million in the facility through various additions and testing infrastructure.
