Raytheon expands defense production via Patriot contracts and radar supply chain improvements

Raytheon is expanding its production capacity and supply chain to meet rising European demand for air and missile defense systems. Recent contract awards for the Patriot system include a $3.7 billion agreement to supply GEM-T interceptors to Ukraine, a $627 million contract for radars and launchers with the Netherlands, and a $988 million contract from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency to provide interceptors to Poland.

To support these efforts, production for Ukraine's interceptors will involve a new facility in Schrobenhausen, Germany, operated by the COMLOG joint venture between Raytheon and MBDA Deutschland.

In the United States, Raytheon is also addressing production constraints for the Navy’s SPY-6 radar. Lyntris has successfully qualified a domestic source for the wedgelock assembly, a critical mechanical component within the Radar Modular Assembly that manages thermal loads and secures electronic hardware. This development aims to mitigate long lead times and support the scaling of radar manufacturing for various U.S. Navy ship classes.
