Raytheon to double Stinger missile output in Europe

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) announced a plan to double production capacity for its Stinger surface‑to‑air missile. The expansion will be carried out with European partners, notably Germany’s Diehl Defence, which will produce the missile’s guidance section, and Dutch suppliers that will assemble and complete the final system in the Netherlands. RTX expects the increased output to support demand from NATO allies and to strengthen its industrial base through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.

The Stinger missile, used by ground troops and all four U.S. services, boasts a reported reliability and training success rate above 90 %. It is deployed by 24 nations, including 10 NATO members, and has been upgraded with proximity fuzes to improve defense against unmanned aerial systems.
