Raytron OEM and Chess Dynamics announce new AI-driven imaging and processing hardware
Raytron OEM has introduced the Falcon500, a third-generation dedicated infrared AI image processing chip. The chip is designed for next-generation thermal imaging products, integrating high-performance computing, AI-powered Image Signal Processing (AI-ISP), intelligent sensing, multimodal integration, and precision temperature measurement.
The Falcon500 features a heterogeneous NPU for efficient on-device AI inference, supporting functions such as object recognition and alerts. It can support up to five video streams and uses pixel-level alignment to combine visible-light details with infrared temperature data. The architecture includes hardware encryption, distortion correction, and fault protection.
Separately, Chess Dynamics, part of the Cohort Group, has expanded its Vision4ce CHARM portfolio with the CHARM50. This compact edge video processing module is designed for low-SWaP (size, weight, and power) platforms, such as airborne surveillance, unmanned systems, and handheld sensors. The CHARM50 is approximately 50% smaller than the CHARM100NX and enables local processing of HD-SDI video streams to reduce the need for transmitting large volumes of raw data to central processors.
