Raza Aslam, train attack hero, seeks aid after paralysis
Raza Aslam, a 44‑year‑old delivery driver, intervened to protect passengers during a mass stabbing on an LNER service that was diverted to Huntingdon on 1 November 2025. He stepped in front of other travellers, was stabbed in the left arm and suffered a severed radial nerve, leaving him partially paralyzed and with limited use of his hand.
Doctors say the nerve may take years to heal and full function is unlikely to return. Aslam has also been diagnosed with severe PTSD, experiencing nightmares and flashbacks. The injury forced him to stop working, and he has been pleading for public assistance to cover medical costs and support his family.
The alleged attacker, 33‑year‑old Anthony Williams of Peterborough, faces ten counts of attempted murder and eleven other charges, with his trial set for 26 October.
