Raízen and Grupo SHC initiate major debt restructuring processes
Raízen has approved measures to implement an extrajudicial recovery plan aimed at restructuring approximately R$ 61.4 billion in debt. The board's proposals, which include changes to capital structure and governance, will be submitted to shareholders on October 30. Proposed measures include a potential reduction of social capital by up to R$ 35 billion and the creation of a new class of preferred shares.
Separately, Grupo SHC, the representative for JAC Motors in Brazil, has filed for judicial recovery involving 44 companies within the group. The filing cites R$ 239.5 million in debt. This move follows a previous restructuring process and comes amid a decline in JAC Motors' market presence in Brazil, with vehicle registrations dropping by 51.1% in 2025 compared to the previous year.
