Raízen Energia approves B3 listing to separate bioenergy business

Raízen Energia, a subsidiary of the Raízen group focusing on sugar, ethanol, and bioenergy, has approved a request to list its shares on the B3 stock exchange. This move is part of the group’s extrajudicial recovery plan, which aims to separate its bioenergy operations from its fuel distribution business.

Unlike a traditional IPO, this listing is not intended to raise new capital or sell new shares. Instead, it serves as a bureaucratic step to allow current shareholders of Raízen S.A.—including Shell and Cosan—to receive and trade Raízen Energia shares directly. The plan involves reducing the holding company's capital by up to R$35 billion and distributing shares to existing shareholders in proportion to their current holdings, subject to certain conditions and a vote scheduled for October 30.
