Razer acquires StreamElements to expand creator ecosystem

Razer has purchased the assets of StreamElements, the cloud‑based platform that provides overlays, alerts, chatbots, tip pages and sponsorship tools for livestreamers, from its former owner Live Momentum Ltd. The financial terms were not disclosed. Razer says the acquisition is part of a long‑term strategy to build a tighter ecosystem for content creators, linking the service with its own hardware and software offerings such as Razer Chroma, Razer Gold, Silver and the Razer ID.

According to co‑founder and CEO Min‑Liang Tan, “Content creators and livestreamers have long been a core part of the Razer community,” and the company intends to keep StreamElements’ tools operating unchanged for the millions of creators who rely on them daily. The move follows the 2024 revamp of Razer’s Content Creator Program, which added tens of thousands of streamers and new reward schemes. Razer plans to integrate StreamElements more closely with its ecosystem over time, though specific features and timelines have not yet been announced.
