Razer unveils Wolverine V4 controller series for Xbox and PC
Razer has announced the Wolverine V4 controller lineup, specifically designed for competitive gaming on Xbox Series X|S and PC. The series includes the wireless Wolverine V4 Pro and the wired Wolverine V4 Tournament Edition.
A major technical advancement in this generation is the introduction of high-resolution capacitive thumbstick sensors. Paired with a 16-bit ADC chip, these contactless sensors register approximately 3,000 steps of movement, aiming to provide smoother tracking and eliminate stick drift more effectively than previous TMR or Hall Effect technologies.
Performance varies by platform: on PC, the controllers support a polling rate of up to 8,000Hz via HyperPolling, while on Xbox, the rate is capped at 250Hz. The Pro model features extensive customization options, including four magnetic, swappable back buttons, a removable faceplate, and Pro HyperTriggers that allow users to toggle between rapid-fire actuation (1.3 mm) and full analog pulls (8.2 mm).
The Wolverine V4 Pro is priced at approximately $199.99 / £199.99 / €209.99, while the Tournament Edition is positioned at $99.99 / £99.99 / €109.99.
