Romanian coach Razvan Lucescu has placed a €7 million offer on hold and is in talks with Saudi Arabian club Al‑Ittihad, meeting representatives in Dubai. Reports indicate Al‑Ittihad is seriously interested, having previously withdrawn from negotiations with Al‑Sadd.

In a separate interview in Greece, Lucescu described his departure from PAOK as forced, accusing the club’s leadership of speaking with other coaches behind his back. He said, "Am fost complet loial clubului și lui Savvidis" ("I was completely loyal to the club and Savvidis"), and claimed he left without compensation after a conflict over contract terms.
