Răzvan Lutsescu laments departure from Greek club PAOK

Former PAOK manager Răzvan Lutsescu said he feels deep sadness about his exit from the club, saying he “loves PAOK terribly” and wished for a different farewell with the fans. In an interview on Foxbet, he thanked owner Ivan Savvidis for the seven‑year partnership and expressed gratitude for the titles and European runs achieved together. He explained that PAOK was already searching for a replacement while he was in Romania, which contributed to a “noisy” and “toxic” atmosphere surrounding the split. Lutsescu also lamented missing a proper cup final and criticised the high expectations placed on the team, noting a lack of a winning culture in recent years. Fan representatives from the PAOK Kavala supporters’ association visited him in Thessaloniki to present a commemorative plaque, highlighting the continued respect he enjoys among the club’s supporters. Overall, Lutsescu conveyed disappointment that he could not say goodbye the way he wanted, while acknowledging the club’s right to change and moving forward.
