RB Leipzig defeats PSV Eindhoven 1-0 in Champions League

RB Leipzig secured their first victory of the Champions League league phase with a 1-0 win over PSV Eindhoven at the Red Bull Arena. The decisive goal was scored in the 75th minute by Brajan Gruda, who struck a powerful long-range shot that was slightly deflected.

The match was defined by a crucial moment in the 19th minute when Leipzig goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoordt saved a penalty taken by Ivan Perišić. The penalty was awarded following a VAR review of a handball by Ridle Baku. Despite PSV controlling much of the possession and creating several opportunities, including a missed chance by Sven Mijnans, they were unable to find the equalizer.

For PSV, the defeat leaves them with only one point from two matches. For Leipzig, the win provides a significant boost in the standings following a heavy opening-day loss to Como.
