RB Leipzig pursues Watford striker Doumbia as AJ Auxerre nears deal for goalkeeper Diop

German club RB Leipzig have been linked with 20‑year‑old striker Mamadou Doumbia, who is under contract with Watford until 2029. Media reports suggest a transfer fee of around €4 million and note interest from clubs such as TSG Hoffenheim, Hamburger SV and AS Monaco. Doumbia, 192 cm tall, has made 52 Championship appearances for Watford, scoring six goals and earning seven caps for Mali.

In France, AJ Auxerre are close to completing a four‑year contract for 26‑year‑old goalkeeper Mamadou Diop, currently with Grenoble Foot 38. The proposed fee of €1.5‑2.5 million would set a record for a Ligue 2 goalkeeper moving between French clubs. Diop, who also holds Senegalese nationality, has represented Mauritania seven times and is known for his 204 cm stature. Earlier interest had come from OGC Nice and Stade Brestois, but Auxerre have presented the most concrete offer.
