Rúben Dias named Manchester City captain

Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca has announced that Portuguese defender Rúben Dias will serve as one of the club's captains for the current season. Dias succeeds Bernardo Silva, who moved to Real Madrid following the expiration of his contract.

Maresca identified the team's captains as Rúben Dias, Erling Haaland, Marc Guéhi, and Gianluigi Donnarumma. Regarding squad availability ahead of the match against Coventry, Maresca confirmed that Matheus Nunes has recovered from injury and will be called up, while Jeremy Doku remains sidelined.

The manager also addressed the recent acquisition of Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández from Chelsea for 145 million euros. Maresca noted that despite limited playing time at his former club, Fernández is prepared to compete, describing him as a player with a “winner's mentality.”
