RBI Central Board reconstituted with Anand Mahindra and S Somanath
The Indian government has reconstituted the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) through a series of new appointments and departures. Industrialist Anand Mahindra has been reappointed as a part-time, non-official director for another four-year term.
Former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman S Somanath Sreedhara Panicker has joined the board as a part-time, non-official director for a four-year term. Other new appointments include Janmejaya Kumar Sinha, Syed Akbaruddin, and Annie George Mathew, who will also serve as part-time, non-official directors for four years.
The restructuring concludes the tenures of several previous directors, including Venu Srinivasan, Pankaj Ramanbhai Patel, and Ravindra H Dholakia.
