Deportivo La Coruña returns to La Liga against Elche CF

Deportivo La Coruña returns to La Liga after an eight-season absence, facing Elche CF in their season opener at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor. The match marks a significant milestone for the Galician club, which has invested heavily to secure its place in the top flight.

Deportivo has spent nearly 30 million euros on transfers this summer, including the acquisition of veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and goalkeeper Leo Román. The club aims to avoid relegation and stabilize its position in the first division.

Elche CF enters the match looking to improve upon their previous campaign, where they narrowly avoided relegation. The match is expected to draw significant attention from local fans, some of whom have organized protests regarding club membership and stadium access conditions.
