Lamine Camara nears Chelsea move from AS Monaco

Chelsea has reportedly reached an agreement to sign Senegalese midfielder Lamine Camara from AS Monaco. The 22-year-old is expected to travel to London for a medical examination within the coming days. Camara has been identified as a primary candidate to replace Enzo Fernández, who is heavily linked with a move to Manchester City.

Monaco's sporting director, Thiago Scuro, has indicated that while the club prefers to keep Camara, they are willing to accept an ‘irresistible offer’ to help balance the books and comply with financial regulations. The transfer comes amid a busy window for Monaco, which also includes the imminent arrival of midfielder Erik Lira from Cruz Azul.

While Liverpool had previously expressed interest in Camara, recent reports suggest Chelsea is currently the frontrunner for the deal. Monaco manager Filipe Luís has expressed his desire to retain the player, citing his exceptional defensive capabilities and professional attitude.
