RC Lens defender Maik Nawrocki has suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), according to an official club statement. The 25-year-old Polish player sustained the injury during a match against Strasbourg on August 29.

Nawrocki, who joined the club this summer from Celtic Glasgow, had recently established himself as a starter, appearing in the French Super Cup victory over Paris Saint-Germain and the opening league matches. He is scheduled to undergo surgery and will face a recovery period lasting several months.

The club expressed its full support for the player, stating that he will undergo a long period of convalescence and adding a message of support in Polish: ‘Wracaj do zdrowia, Maik!’
