RC Lens faces disciplinary rulings and refereeing controversy

The LFP disciplinary commission has issued several rulings affecting French football clubs. Samir El Mourabet of RC Strasbourg has received a two-match suspension following an incident against Olympique de Marseille, which will see him miss the upcoming match against RC Lens.

In a separate matter, the FFF refereeing directorate reviewed a controversial penalty awarded to RC Lens during their 5-2 victory over AJ Auxerre. The directorate concluded that the penalty, originally awarded for a handball by Arthur Piedfort, should not have been given under Law 12, as the player was engaged in a duel with an opponent at the time of contact.

Additionally, RC Lens defender Maik Nawrocki will serve a yellow card received during the match against AJ Auxerre, as the league upheld the original decision despite protests regarding the continuity of the play.
