Iván Cuéllar hospitalized after training center accident

RCD Mallorca goalkeeper Iván ‘Pichu’ Cuéllar was hospitalized with a serious head injury after a decorative structure collapsed on him in the club’s dining hall. The incident occurred on Monday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Antonio Asensio training complex, shortly before a scheduled team training session.

The 42-year-old goalkeeper was immediately provided with medical care and transported to a hospital for observation and testing to rule out complications. The club issued an official statement confirming the incident and noting that Cuéllar is recovering well, though he remains under medical supervision for at least 24 hours.

The accident leaves coach Luis García with limited options for the upcoming match against Girona. With Lucas Bergström away on international duty with Finland, Arnau Tenas is currently the only available first-team goalkeeper.
