RCKiK Lublin suspends B RhD+ whole blood donations

The Regional Blood Donation and Blood Treatment Center (RCKiK) in Lublin has announced a temporary suspension of whole blood donations for individuals with the B RhD+ blood group. This decision is due to exceptionally high stock levels of this specific blood type rather than a shortage.

The suspension is intended to manage inventory effectively and prevent the waste of blood products, which have strict expiration dates. The measure remains in effect until October 16, 2026. While whole blood donations for this group are paused, the center is still encouraging donors to contribute plasma via automatic apheresis at its headquarters and field branches.
