Rückmarsdorf school faces water contamination issues
A routine drinking water test at the interim building for Rückmarsdorf school revealed contamination late Thursday afternoon. The testing was conducted following the replacement of a temporary water connection with a permanent house connection.
School Office Director Peter Hirschmann stated that officials are working to identify the cause and ensure the safety of students and staff. To allow school and after-school care to resume as planned on Monday following the autumn break, a temporary filtration system will be installed. Additionally, separate drinking water will be provided for sinks in sanitary areas and classrooms, a measure coordinated with the Leipzig Health Department.
Regarding school meals, the kitchen installation is still pending. For at least the next four weeks, food will be served using trays until a regular meal service can be established.
