RCMP and fisheries officers issue fines during Highway 16 checkstop
RCMP highway patrol officers and Fisheries and Oceans Canada conducted a joint checkstop on Highway 16 east of Terrace, British Columbia, resulting in numerous fines and warnings.
RCMP officers issued 10 tickets for driving offences such as seat belt violations and lack of insurance, along with 11 orders for vehicle repairs and 11 violation tickets for vehicle defects. Additionally, over 100 warnings were issued for obstructed views or insecure pets.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada performed 55 inspections, leading to 8 violation tickets, 12 written warnings, and the seizure of four illegal fish.
