Salmon Arm RCMP investigate discovery of human remains
The RCMP is investigating the discovery of suspected human remains in the Yankee Flats area, located south of Salmon Arm. The remains were found on Sunday, September 13, around 12:30 p.m. by two civilian dog trainers working in a heavily wooded section of the 2000 block of Yankee Flats Road.
Frontline officers from the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP secured the site. The investigation is being conducted with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Services and the BC Coroners Service. No further details regarding the identity of the remains or the circumstances of the discovery have been released at this time.
