RCMP issue warnings regarding thefts and potent drug supply in British Columbia

The Revelstoke RCMP is investigating a series of recurring after-hours thefts targeting tools, equipment, and vehicle contents. Reported stolen items include chainsaws, mountain bikes, motors, and batteries from boats, carports, and insecure vehicles. Authorities are reviewing evidence to identify those responsible and have urged residents to secure valuables and report suspicious activity.

In Salmon Arm, the RCMP has issued a warning regarding a highly potent drug supply following two suspected overdoses. Police noted that counterfeit tablets being sold as Dilaudid or hydromorphone may actually contain isotonitazene, a substance considered up to 50 times stronger than fentanyl. Additionally, officials warned of the potential emergence of cychlorphine, a laboratory-made opioid estimated to be 10 times more potent than fentanyl, for which no effective test strips currently exist.
