RCMP seeks public assistance in investigations of suspicious Canadian wildfires

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) announced that leads have dried up in the probe of the August 2022 Conception Bay North Shore wildfires in Newfoundland and Labrador, which destroyed about 200 structures and displaced dozens of families. Police have cleared individuals previously named in social‑media speculation but continue to urge anyone with information to contact Harbour Grace RCMP.

Separately, Nanaimo RCMP are requesting witnesses to a suspicious fire that ignited two large trees in Bowen Park on July 26. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, but officers detected a strong chemical odor and have not identified any suspects. The police are asking anyone who saw suspicious activity near the park’s pedestrian path to come forward.
